Operational Coherence has been deeply committed to a unique, passionate, and entirely promising mitigation and wildfire modeling company with a vision to transform the management of wildfires around the globe.
There is an unrelenting focus on reducing the need for suppression, or the volume of suppression needed today, through effective, proactive, and AI-driven mitigation, which is a vision I am fully dedicated to. It has been nothing but a positive experience. It has been an enjoyable and rewarding process gaining a comprehensive understanding of the company's software while working in sales, supporting customers, running social media, advertising, and contributing to the software.
Beyond this core commitment, here is a look at what Operational Coherence has been up to and what is in store for the remainder of the year:
- Conference and Guest Lecturing: Speaking at conferences and guest lecturing, delivering original research.
- Commitment: Continuing to work for and grow with the above company
- The Book Project: Keep working through a book of essays I wrote with an editor. It was not the book I set out to write, but it is, in fact, much better.
- The Complexity Lounge (August 18th): Presenting on time at the Complexity Lounge (announcement to follow)
- Forthcoming Publication: Awaiting formal publication of a recent paper in the Journal of Emergency Management. It follows a biological perspective on why some community members adopt resilience-building behaviors and why some choose not to.
- Theory to Practice: Writing and reading to keep driving my ideas forward and expand my available body of knowledge.
Thank you for stopping by.
